Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei appeared together on CNBC to discuss their companies' partnership, with Amodei describing the collaboration as "bigger than the sum of its parts." The joint appearance came days after Salesforce reported that its Agentforce product, which relies partly on Anthropic's Claude models, had crossed $1.5 billion in annualized recurring revenue.

The interview doubled as a rebuttal to skeptics who argue AI agents will eventually replace the software licenses companies like Salesforce depend on. Benioff has been particularly vocal on this point recently, dismissing what he called "SaaSpocalypse" predictions as unfounded after Salesforce posted its strongest quarterly results in years.

For Anthropic, the appearance also served as a showcase of its enterprise ambitions at a moment when the company is reportedly preparing for a possible initial public offering. Tying its brand to a concrete, fast-growing enterprise product gives Anthropic a clearer answer to the question institutional investors are likely to ask: whether AI labs can translate model quality into durable, monetizable partnerships rather than one-off deals.
